About this region
Caribou Chilcotin region includes three primary areas: Chilcotin Central Coast, Gold Rush Trail and Interlakes. This region is bordered by Klemtu, Bella Bella and Wuikinuxv in the west, Lillooet and Yale in the south along with New Westminster on the Gold Rush Trail, Hartley Bay, Entiako and Finger-Tatuk Provincial Parks in the north, and Wells Gray Park, Barriere and Clearwater in the east.
The Chilcotin Central Coast is one of British Columbia’s natural and cultural gems, and one of the least visited areas of the province. This is a region of incredible geographic and ecological diversity. The Gold Rush Trail (GRT) is a stunning 750km corridor following the Fraser River and Fraser Canyon and delivers a distinct, scenic, heritage experience that can’t be found anywhere else in the province. The Interlakes is a place of lakes, rivers, ranchlands and mountains that provide a rich backdrop for outdoor recreation and nature-based pursuits. The region includes over 50 First Nations.
